Body Culture School of Adolf Koch

Title

Body Culture School of Adolf Koch

Subject

School/Nudist Camp

Description

The Body Culture School of Adolf Koch was a Nacktkultur school that combined teachings of gymnastics, nudity, and political theory. Located at Friedrichstrasse 218, lectures on hygiene were common as members of the community highly valued healthy practices. Everyone who took part in the program referred to each other as the familiar form "du". Everyone was welcome regardless of income, ethnicity, age, sexuality, etc. Members were tithed five percent of their income as dues while the unemployed attended for free. However kind and accepting people were, the man behind it all - Adolf Koch - was incredibly strict. He was incredibly punctual and had a very cold demeanour, and his lectures were always on very serious and tough topics. The naked form was not seen in a sexual light in this school, but outsiders found their activities erotic.
